Atomic Fitness Gym Head Trainer, Lindsay, began her career in fitness training & coaching while living in Milwaukee, WI. She started Empower Fitness in 2007 & personally trained clients out of 2 independent gyms in Milwaukee.
Lindsay moved back to Washington in 2009 & worked at Vision Quest Fitness in Puyallup & Prime Fitness in Bonney Lake before taking the leap & going out on her own again. She learned so much from her experiences at these 2 facilities--she continued her education by learning all she could from other trainers & seminars.

In October 2012, Lindsay was lucky enough to transform her garage in Puyallup at her own house into a functional gym.
This is very excitiing for Lindsay as this opportunity allows her to continue to train for a reasonable cost, expand her client base, and offer a wider variety of equipment & extremely flexible hours.

I am 33 years old & have struggled with my weight my whole life & have been challenged to find ways to lose weight, not do the extreme things. In 2009, I was out of control. My weight had risen to 326lbs. The misconception that I had, was despite me feeling unhappy internally & externally (finding things that would fit), I was still able to perform many different activities, even completing the Susan G. Komen 3 Day Breast Cancer walk. I didn’t realize how out of control I was, until I was at the gym & other people were training with me. One moment I cannot forget--I was running with others & realized I was the last one to finish. Everyone was cheering me on. You would think that this would be a good thing that people were cheering, but I was devastated. How could I be the last one in this race? If you know, I do not like to lose, I am a fighter, hate not progressing. Funny to look back at where I …I had lost myself, who I truly was & what was about.
Prior to working out with Lindsay, I was working with another trainer. I had developed a shoulder injury & was having difficulty performing any exercises that worked with the arms. I was hesitant to do any exercises because I was afraid that I was going to injure my arm more. I learned that I didn’t have any core strength, through training with Lindsay I have learned how to develop good posture, how to stand & position myself during exercises & build core muscles which feels very different when training. I had also lost weight but felt stagnant in my eating routines & food options--I was struggling to see any change in my weight. During this time, I started physical therapy & received workout limitations that Lindsay followed, along with Lindsay working on my core to build my strength. I also began losing inches & weight.
Since working out with Lindsay there have been a variety of positives. My shoulder is doing well; we have switched up training developing options from working out at a gym to also working out outside. Lindsay continues to keep me accountable, challenges me every time we train to try new workouts & to progress. She encourages me to make other changes in my life & continues to switch my workouts & varies exercises--I am never bored. My food options change daily, vary rarely eating the same kind of food, we talk about new recipes, she watches my calories & my percentage of fats, carbs, & proteins. Lindsay gives me feedback & assists me in creating attainable goals. All this has been awesome for me, but I can tell you that there is not a quick answer to losing weight. There is a lot of hard work involved & daily being reminded of the vision & goal that I want to attain. I can tell you that I am grateful for Lindsay. She has changed my life & continues to push me more than I thought I could. I can’t imagine where I would be if I don’t have Lindsay working with me on my lifetime journey of becoming a healthy woman.
